Why Rome by Bicycle?

Rome itself is a relatively small city but with some very complex traffic rules. Not in every corner you will be allowed by a car, scooter or public transportation. Choosing a bicyle means moving on the same routes as people walk, but with a faster speed. Bicycle saves you A LOT of time while being a very fun experience. LIVE ROME AS ROMANS DO!

Is it safe?

Of course it is. Here's why:

  • Bikes are constantly controlled so everything works properly
  • Our traffic are people, not cars.
  • You will be provided with a helmet, just in case.
  • Your guide is experienced and will look after you all the time.

Do we have to ride in between the cars and crazy scooters?

NO WAY!!! Our route is carefuly calculated in details, and by 98% we will not encounter any cars or scooters on our path. So we meet no motorized traffic. Only humans and groups of tourists can be our problem while biking.

I'm not an experienced biker, I'm not too young anymore, I'm not fit, I'm not...

No worries. If you can walk without fatique, you can ride a bicycle too. We meet all kind of different people and know how to deal with them all. Riding a bike is simple. Our bikes were choosen to be easily adopted for every age, height and weight. Literally from 10 years old boy to a 60-70 year old lady. We will go 90% on plain roads, 5% downhill and 5% uphill. Speed will be something like the one of a jogging man, which is 10km/h for a bike. Distance is approximately 10-12km. There is no much effort involved.

    How big is the group?

We're trying to make our tours as much individual as possible. We prefer smaller groups because this way it is easier to explain about the history of Rome and answer your questions. Also a smaller group means a better flexibility to modify our route on request.

Generaly our group is as small as 4 people. Yes, we will do the guided tour even if only 2 people reserved. The most it can get is 8 people, but never more than that.

What is the best time for the tour?

In summer I advise to start the tour by 18:00. This is because of an extreeme heat during early afternoon. Also considering that it's getting dark around 21:00 we still get plenty of time.
